Favourite place

I particularly like the area around Idaplatz in District 3, plus it’s just a hop, skip and jump from our office near Helvetiaplatz. I haven’t been in Zurich for very long yet and am really just discovering the city bit by bit. This area has a lot of small cafés, owner-run shops and a laid-back, welcoming vibe.

Right in the middle of the district there’s a restaurant named “Tillsamman”, which is the Swedish word for “together”. Since I like being around people and love Sweden, too – I always feel the country calling to me – “Tillsamman” has become my mini-Sweden in the heart of Zurich and my favourite place to be whenever I’m really yearning to go back. For me, it’s more than just a restaurant with a menu that changes with the seasons. Each plate contains a miniature cosmos bursting with different colours, tastes and smells that all remind me of something familiar.

I often get lost in details and am distracted by impressions and little observations. Those moments are precious to me: They make the difference. At “Tillsamman”, I find precisely those moments in a familiar atmosphere and create new memories.

I’m finding that Zurich is increasingly becoming a city of little discoveries and a place where I’m more than happy to stay.

Career

I’ve been passionate about stories since I was a child and am always carrying an exciting book around with me, plus a book recommendation. That’s why I decided to start out with a three-year apprenticeship in a book store. I then went to university in Freiburg, Germany, and Lund, Sweden, where I earned degrees in media cultural studies and Scandinavian studies, after which I spent three years working in a communications agency, mainly for clients from the tourism, sports and mobility industries. At open up, I support clients from the digital and financial sectors as well as in the areas of tourism and mobility.
