open up provides Stiftung Sonnenschein foundation with communications advice and support

Stiftung Sonnenschein, a foundation that for the last 30 years has worked for children with cancer and their families, relies on open up’s expertise and network for its media relations. The communications and PR agency is also supporting the foundation with other communications work. The purpose of Stiftung Sonnenschein is to provide direct or indirect support to families with a child who has cancer. “When a child is diagnosed with cancer and the world suddenly turns upside down, we help give the affected families rays of hope, support and relief.” To achieve this mission, the foundation works with Children’s Hospital Zurich, supporting the oncological department, the children it treats and their families. This important, valuable work is only possible thanks to numerous volunteers and donors. Open up is delighted to be a part of this, and has supported the Stiftung Sonnenschein foundation with media relations and a range of communications work since 2021. Among other things, in March open up placed an interview with volunteer Jaqueline Scherrer in the Tamedia education supplement, giving an insight into her involvement in the foundation’s annual holiday camps. Open up’s expertise also fed into a media report on the foundation’s partnership with IKEA in connection with a newly set up apartment for parents. Open up also helped fine-tune the foundation’s new website by editing copy, presenting content, and preparing and indexing it on a search-engine-optimised basis. The agency provided editing support for the recently relaunched magazine Sonnenschein, with Brig-based design agency Metaloop AG responsible for the new layout.
