Favourite place
When faced by the chaos of everyday life, it’s often worth taking a step back. That’s why the Sonnenberg viewpoint above the City of Zurich is my perfect retreat whenever the jungle of a mid-size city makes me feel very small again, not least because the vines remind me strongly of my home town in Styria.
For me, this place offers the perfect view over Zurich, while also being close enough to the city to allow me to still feel a part of it. From the lake, where on windy days you can see small, triangular sailing boats, your eyes sweep further over the always bustling Old Town and the glass-clad business towers in District 5 and beyond. In the distance lies the Limmat Valley, more often than not wrapped in a pea soup fog. A unique “made in Züri” sound composition provides the background music to this view. The roaring sound of cars racing along the lake mingles with the squeaking of the tram tracks and sometimes also the raucous shouts of the football fans at Letzigrund. The noise of everyday life becomes a distant murmur. Over the city and in my head.

Career
I did my Bachelor’s in Journalism and Public Relations in Graz, the birthplace of the Terminator. During this time I spent one semester at Northumbria University in Newcastle in the north of England. Upon completing my studies I worked as PR employee in the Austrian cultural sector before being drawn to Switzerland for a journalistic position with a technical publishing company. Around two years later I entered the agency world when I joined open up, where I look after clients from the most diverse sectors, including ICT, the financial industry and tourism.
