My favourite place
I like people, and I like stories. I find both in Sphères, a bar, bookstore and stage rolled into one in Zurich’s industrial district.
Facts alone aren’t enough. If I like a story it’s because it also touches my emotions, and then it also stays in my mind. That’s something profoundly human. Since the Stone Age we’ve been passing on our experience and important information in stories. For example where can I find blueberries (my absolute favourite thing)? Or how do I make fire? These stories assured the survival of my ancestors. It’s thanks to them that I’m here in the first place.As a digital immigrant I now consume media more or less only in digital form. But Sphères is the gateway to my analogue world. There I don’t have algorithms suggesting products or restaurants I might also like. I can browse the bookshop with an open mind, making chance discoveries and stumbling across things I wasn’t even looking for. This place is my source of intellectual, social and culinary inspiration.
I’ve made storytelling my profession. Profession? More like vocation. The mood in Sphères inspires me. If I’m looking for that dazzling idea for a story, this is where you’ll find me.

My story
At open up I manage accounts in financial services, IT, health insurance, industry, real estate development, healthcare and associations. My areas of focus are content strategy and creation, media relations, corporate communications, marketing communications and public affairs.
Before joining open up I worked for various prestigious Swiss PR agencies, developing communications strategies for domestic and international organisations and managing their implementation. Thanks to many years of campaigning experience I’m well versed in this country’s economic, political and social processes and arrangements. In my previous life I was a geographer and geologist, and then spent more than ten years as a journalist for national media (online, TV and print).
